REEF

Rendered in a bright colour palette, the "Reef" armchair has an easy-breezy feel and is the first entirely sustainable armchair. The padding in recycled polyurethane foam was obtained by clumping together a mixture of bulky waste (sofas and mattresses) and manufacturing scraps from the furnishings and décor sector. The second padding material is a thermo-bonded polyester-fibre fill consisting of at least 70% polyester fibres derived from recycled post-consumer containers in white polyester. But the innovative core of this product especially resides in the fabric used to upholster "Reef". Created entirely from recycled post-consumer waste obtained from plastic debris found floating in the seas and from plastic bottles rescued from landfill sites, this special upholstery has been created together with SEAQUAL, the community which fights marine litter and cleans up the oceans. Each "Reef" produced uses over 100 plastic bottles salvaged from the sea, a concrete contribution to the mission of cleaning up the earth and oceans. The green core of the "Reef" armchair is also evident from the wooden frame which is FSC® certified (FSC-C002023): this brand identifies products that only use wood coming from well-managed forests in compliance with strict environmental, social and economic standards.
