Connubia launches Ops!, the chair that is good for the environment

On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2024, Connubia , a young and contemporary brand with green DNA , presents the innovative Ops! seat, designed by the Archivolto studio and produced in recycled polypropylene and, for the first time, also in post-consumer recycled plastic material from the recovery of tetrapak-type food packaging.

An ambitious project, born from the desire to create a unique and versatile object, suitable for multiple applications and spaces, both indoors and outdoors, capable of establishing a harmonious dialogue between design and sustainability.

The fresh design of Ops!, characterized by a sinuous and enveloping profile, is reflected in the innovation of the material that composes it: a new post-consumer recycled material, coming from the recovery of tetrapak, a material notoriously made of paper, plastic and aluminum. Thanks to the use of high-engineering techniques, it was in fact possible to create a process for the recovery of polylaminate waste such as to create this new post-consumer material. An environmentally friendly seat, if you consider that to make one chair, 600 cartons of tetrapak-type material are recovered for the version with armrests and 500 cartons for the version without armrests, thus recovering waste materials without sacrificing excellent structural, mechanical and aesthetic qualities.

In addition to the innovative recycled tetrapak version with sand-colored finish, Ops! will be available, with and without armrests, also in 100% recycled polypropylene in the color variations white, black, hemp, dove gray and earth.

With this new product, Connubia continues its sustainable path, integrating its “ I am green ” line, strong in the awareness that design today has new responsibilities towards the environment. A commitment, that of the company, which develops on two parallel levels: the first linked to the creation of green furnishings, composed of natural and recycled materials with circularity in mind, and the second based on the company system for a sustainable approach to development, production and distribution.
