Our contribution to a sustainable future
"We don't promise you 100% green in everything right away, but we certainly promise 100% commitment and transparency to make our contribution to a sustainable future"
Connubia is determined to make a difference on the issue of sustainability. The I am Green programme aims to structure and organise the company's activities dedicated to this theme by acting on 2 fronts: that of the Product, creating green furnishings composed of natural and recycled materials and thinking about circularity, and that of the Company system, for a sustainable approach to the development, production and distribution of products.
Design has new responsibilities in the increasingly complex world we are living in, and the sustainability of projects through the simplification of processes takes on a key role in design.

OPS!
produced from recycled polypropylene and, for the first time, also from post-consumer recycled plastic from recovered tetrapak-type food packaging.

The fresh design of Ops!, characterised by a sinuous and enveloping profile, is reflected in the innovation of the material it is made of: a new post-consumer recycled material, coming from the recovery of tetrapak, a material notoriously made of paper, plastic and aluminium.
Thanks to the use of highly-engineered techniques, it was in fact possible to create a process for the recovery of waste polythene such as to create this new post-consumer material. An environmentally friendly chair, if you think that to make one chair 600 cartons of tetrapak-type material are recovered for the version with armrests and as many as 500 cartons for the version without armrests, thus recovering waste materials without giving up excellent structural, mechanical and aesthetic qualities.
“I am green” embodies the awareness of design's new responsibilities to the environment.

REEF
La poltrona 100% green di Connubia dove ogni elemento è stato studiato in un’ottica ecosostenibile e circolare.

The Reef armchair, with its bright colors and light spirit, marks a new design awareness that has seen the company and the designer work side by side to find innovative solutions capable of giving life to sustainable and responsible production. Here then is that its lines design a timeless but extremely contemporary product where each element has been studied in an eco-sustainable and circular perspective, the perfect expression of the Calligaris Group's "Greenbow" philosophy.
Every material used, from the lining to the internal structure and packaging, has been selected from an eco-sustainable and circular perspective.
The padding is made of recycled polyurethane foam derived from the agglomeration of bulky waste (sofas, mattresses) and production waste from the furniture and textile industry supply chains.
The second material used for the padding is thermo-bonded polyester fiber wadding made up of at least 70% polyester fiber obtained from the recycling of post-consumer white polyester containers. The fabric is created entirely with post-consumer recycled plastic, from plastic debris floating in our seas and plastic bottles thrown away and destined for landfill.
The green DNA of the Reef armchair continues in the wooden structure, FSC® certified (FSC-C002023): The brand identifies products containing wood from forests managed correctly and responsibly according to rigorous environmental, social and economic standards.

ZERO
Zero is the sustainable chair that can be assembled with a coin.

Zero is a chair in kit form, made of post-industrial recycled plastic that can be fully recycled again . No tools are needed to assemble it, just a simple coin. It has no metal pieces and all its components are replaceable for long-lasting use.
Even the packaging design was guided by sustainability: made of recycled cardboard, this very small pack allows the product to be shipped flat so as to facilitate distribution and storage, reducing the environmental impact of the logistics activity. Why did we choose such a simple design?
To hide the sophisticated technological and cultural research behind a product like this, giving it a reassuring and memorable look.
Zero is entirely made of thermoplastic technopolymer with 100% recycled polyolefins. This material allows you to create products that are much more environmentally friendly because they derive from the recycling of industrial waste that would otherwise be disposed of. Zero not only does not use new fossil resources, but even redevelops scraps and industrial waste that return to the production cycle as raw materials without compromising the aesthetic and functional aspect of the product. Savings for industry and the environment, in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.
